marketed n the U.S.)
Jan. 2 (Bloomberg) -- Schering-Plough Corp.'s experimental
drug for undoing the effects of muscle relaxants used during
surgery will get priority review from U.S. regulators.
The drug, sugammadex, reverses the effects of muscle
relaxants marketed in the U.S. as Zemuron and vecuronium bromide,
according to a statement on PR Newswire today. Schering acquired
sugammadex as part of its March purchase of Akzo Nobel NV's
Organon division. A priority review by the U.S. Food and Drug
Administration reduces the approval process to six months from at
least 10.
